Paddling on the River Cherwell is a safe and fun challenge for all abilities.

We’ll pass historic colleges, pubs and famous parks.

A highlight is falling in and realising the water is lovely.

Who can join: Beginners are very welcome, and ages 8+.

Under 18s: Children can be dropped off by a parent/guardian (you can stay or come back at the end).

Duration: 2 hrs

Group size: Max 9 participants.

WHERE DO WE MEET

We offer 2 different meeting locations.

Option 1 (North Oxford): We meet at Sunnymeade Park car park (Water Eaton Rd, Oxford, OX2 7QQ). There’s free parking.

 

Option 2 (South Oxford): We meet by Donnington Bridge (in Meadow Lane, Oxford, OX4 4AZ - the map below is a bit off, the car park is next to the bridge, by the Oxford Sea Cadets). There’s free parking.

  • No problem! The boards are very stable but sometimes participants get wet. It’s easy to dry off and change into spare clothes when we get back.

  • It’s a beautiful and tranquil river, with many families and adults paddling on it every year. Some people swim in the river all year round.
